NCDRC to remain open on July 18

The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has issued a notification stating that its registry will remain open on Saturday, i.e. July 18, 2020, to enable the litigants to file their Consumer Complaints. This notification was issued after multiple requests were made by the Counsels.

The Commission has therefore asked the Registry to function on Saturday only for the limited purpose of accepting filing of Consumer Complaints, etc

The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 will come into force from July 20 onwards and the erstwhile Consumer Protection Act, 1986 will stand repealed. Therefore all fresh filings after July 20th will be done by following the provisions of the new Consumer Protection Act.
