The Delhi High Court on June 5 refused to stay the demolition process of the Nizamuddin night shelter, with the bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar, dismissing a review petition.
The court is looking into the demolition of illegal constructions within the area and also into the rehabilitation of those rendered homeless due to the demolition.
In its last order, the court had directed the DDA that all the debris, accumulated in the demolition, be removed.
The work at the site has to continue, said the court, with the DCP and SHO to file a status report in eight weeks.
