The Moradabad Police in Uttar Pradesh has arrested four persons, including a couple, for preparing fake sureties and bail papers for the accused in jail.
The gang used to take Rs 10,000 in court and prepare fake sureties for bail of criminals by pasting their photographs on the documents of others. The gang used to disappear after the criminal was released from the jail with forged documents.
On Friday, Superintendent of Police, City Amit Anand said that FIRs have been lodged in the Civil Lines police station on a complaint that some people were getting bail by preparing fake documents to release the accused in jail. Later, the police of Civil Lines police station and Crime Branch started investigation into the matter.
According to SP City, Moradabad Police had been troubled with this gang for some time. The criminals used to disappear after getting bail from fake documents. When the police searched their sureties, they did not find those sureties at the given address.
On Friday, Rajesh Sharma, a resident of Gopalpur village of Chhajlat police station area, Saeed alias Abdul Waheed, a resident of Kanshiram Nagar of Majhola police station area, Laik and Roshan Jahan, a resident of Khaikheda village of Mundhapande police station area have been arrested. The police have also recovered some forged documents from the accused.
The gang used to take bail by creating fake documents, Aadhaar card and Khasra Khatauni. The gang used to search for such people in the court who did not get any surety. By looking for such people, Rajesh Sharma used to take contracts ranging from advocacy to bail. After this, they used to get the criminal released by taking bail with fake documents.
Gang leader Rajesh Sharma used to work in the court with a lawyer in the past. For making fake documents, the gang used to take Khasra Khatauni from remote villages of the countryside. After this, they used to prepare fake documents by tampering the khatauni .
