Pakistani woman gets Indian citizenship

Amidst the turmoil over the CAA and NRC, some good news has come the way of Khatija Parveen a woman hailing from Pakistan who has been granted Indian Citizenship by the Government of India.

Wife of Mohammed Taj, Khatija was granted Indian citizenship on Monday. The Certificate of Registration, granting her citizenship was handed over to her by District Development Commissioner, Poonch, yesterday. Khatija Praveen who was born in Pakistan was granted Indian citizenship on the basis of marriage to an Indian under the Citizenship Act, 1955. Khatija Praveen along with her husband expressed happiness and gratitude on receiving the Certificate of Registration from the Government.
