A PIL has been filed in the Delhi High Court demanding that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government be directed to take action against private schools in the capital that are allegedly charging higher fees during the epidemic and students are not allowed to join online classes.
The division bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan heard the petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Council of India Trust on Monday but the matter was adjourned to December 9 due to lack of time.
Advocate Ashok Kumar Singh, appearing for the trust, submitted that, according to reports, some schools were allegedly charging fees in some other items other than tuition fees and those students who are unable to pay the desired fees were asked not to attend online classes.
It was claimed in the petition that according to the Delhi Parent Association, 76 private schools have violated the instructions of the Delhi government.

The counsel further argued that this act is a violation of the directive of the Delhi government, under which they have been asked not to take any fee other than tuition fees during the epidemic.
