PIL seeks CBI inquiry against CM Pema Khandu

The petition has been filed through Advocate Ansar Ahmad Chaudhary, alleging that Mr Khandu has earned a huge amount and acquired huge properties by corrupt means and several undisclosed properties, allegedly in India and abroad.

ILNS: A petition has been filed before the Supreme Court, seeking a CBI inquiry against Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting corruption and abuse of power.

The petition has been filed through Advocate Ansar Ahmad Chaudhary, alleging that Mr Khandu has earned a huge amount and acquired huge properties by corrupt means and several undisclosed properties, allegedly in India and abroad.

The petitioner submitted that Mr Khandu, through an affidavit filed before the Election Commission, has declared the property, including a Fixed Deposit of Rs 155 crore, assets of Rs two crore, LIC of Rs 3,47,00,000, motor vehicles worth Rs 90 lakh, Jewellery worth Rs 75 lakh, total value of Rs 10,32,128,444 and Property worth Rs 26,36,27,570.

It said that Mr Khandu has made several illegal appointments in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. In addition to this, the Government has entered into secret 133 Memoranda of Association (MoA) with various power developers without prior information and consent of Panchayat Raj Institutions, traditional village authorities, land owners and members of various political parties, the plea added.

The petitioner alleged misappropriation of Rs 1300 crore with various power developers, Rs 24,000 crore under the Prime Minister’s package, and under the ISPA to the tune of Rs 900 crore for 2009 and Rs 1100 crore for 2010.

It further alleged that mining and minerals licensing rights has been given secretly, without competitive bidding, to various private companies.
