New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee has passed away. He was 84. His son Abhjijt announced this through his tweets.
Mukherjee, who was admitted to the Army Referral Hospital earlier this month following a septic shock from a to a lung infection, was also diagnosed with COVID.
Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted:
“Pranab Da’s life will always be cherished for his impeccable service and indelible contribution to our motherland. His demise has left a huge void in Indian polity. My sincerest condolences are with his family and followers on this irreparable loss. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.”

Pranab Mulkherjee had a brain clot surgery on August 10. He had undergone the surgery, but his condition continued to deteriorate and he was put on a ventilator. He had gone into a deep coma and never came out of it.
