The President has approved the elevation of two lawyers as Additional Judges of the Allahabad High Court.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Law and Justice on Monday, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (1) Saurabh Srivastava and (2) Om Prakash Shukla, to be Additional Judges of the Allahabad High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the names of these two Advocates on July 18, 2022.
The Allahabad High Court currently has 91 judges against a sanctioned strength of 160 judges, with a vacancy of 69 judges.
