The Prominent Geo strategy expert and the well known legal Luminary Ashok Bhan has been honored with a life time award from New Delhi based “Kashmir Educational, Cultural & Scientific Society” which is a reputed organisation founded by the well distinguished professionals in diverse fields with some of them being honoured with Padma and Dr Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar awards.
Advocate Ashok Bhan was conferred with the life time award for his excellent professional and Social services.The award was given by the Chairman of the society at a function attended by galaxy of prominent, authors,bureaucrats, cultural personalities, professors,Lawyers and public representatives.
The Senior Advocate Bhan is well known and is counted among the senior most advocates at the Supreme Court of India
.
Ashok Bhan has handled many high-profile cases across the country. He was associated with the Jammu and Kashmir High Court and was one of the prominent advocates till 1988.
Soon after the turmoil in Valley, Bhan migrated to New Delhi and started practicing in the Supreme Court of India.
Journey was not easy, after migrating from Valley to New Delhi, he had to struggle for attaining professional excellence-that could be recognized by bar and the benches along with various social and think tank forums.
Since he came to Delhi in 1989 till Ftill date, Advocate Bhan has been continuously handling matters of great importance, high-profile cases, and other matters.
Advocate Bhan has worked as a special senior advocate for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and argued against YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case is now arguing on behalf of Amaravati farmer.
Mr.Bhan has successfully argued for CBI in a disproportionate assets case and pitched against the likes of Harish Salve, Mukul Rohatgi, Gopal Subramanyam, and Ram Jethmalani.Shanti Bhushan,& other eminent lawyers of the Country.
It was way back during the Bofors case time,
Bhan started his engagement with CBI and taking highly sensitive cases.
Ashok Bhan has dealt with Chandraswami case, Kethan Parikh hawala matter, Yaderappa’s corruption case, Mining scandal etc. in various high courts and in Supreme Court.
It is very important to note that advocate Bhan is also the chairman of Kashmir (Policy & Strategy) Group and has represented cooperate houses and many civil matters and many arbitrations.
As a matter of fact,he is also working with London-based law firm that keeps consulting him on various important matters and arbitrations.
During his speech while receiving a distinguished KECSS life time AWARD:2023’,Advocate Bhan thanked the jury and the organisation which gave him the honour making him feel happy,humble and grateful.
