The Punjab and Haryana High Court disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed which relates to illegal exchange of land of Gram Panchayat of village Dayalpura.
Gaurav Rana, Advocate for Gram Panchayat , submitted that the exchange of land has been cancelled/quashed, vide order dated 05.07.2019, and possession of the land in question has already been taken over by the said Gram Panchayat.
The factual position is not disputed by learned counsel for the petitioner. It is however, informed that the order regarding cancelling the exchange is now assailed by respondent in CWP No.31853 of 2019, which is pending adjudication.

In the circumstances, the Division Bench of Ravi Shanker Jha and Justice Arun Palli find no reason to keep the petition pending and without prejudice to or making any comments on the validity of the order regarding cancelling the exchange, which is subject matter of the writ petition, pending before the High Court, the petition filed by the petitioner stands disposed of.
The PIL has been filed by one Harjinder Singh.
