Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann hands over cheques worth Rs 101 crore to 25000 beneficiaries of housing scheme

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday handed over cheques worth Rs 101 crore to 25,000 beneficiaries of the housing scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

During a gathering, he presented a cheque of Rs 1.75 lakh to each beneficiary, CM Mann spoke about the state government’s responsibility to ensure the welfare of all members of society, particularly those who are vulnerable and underprivileged.

The Chief Minister said that providing food, clothes, and houses to all the residents of the state is the responsibility of the government. CM Mann added that in a welfare state, money for these pro-people initiatives comes from taxes collected from the masses.

According to Mann, his government is utilizing every penny from the state treasury for public welfare, unlike his predecessors who claimed that the state exchequer was empty. He stated that although there was never a shortage of funds, previous state governments lacked the vision and determination to use these funds for the betterment of the people.

Mann also noted that corrupt leaders used to pocket these funds in the past, but his government has taken strict measures to prevent this pilferage, and the money is now being used for the welfare of the masses.

While criticizing his political opponents, he stated that the citizens lost their trust in the state’s political leadership due to their incompetence and corruption.

However, in the 2022 assembly polls, the people of the state showed immense faith in him for which he will always be grateful.

Mann added that his administration is working hard to maintain the public’s trust by prioritizing the welfare of all sections of society and promoting the state’s development.

Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann flagged off equipment that, he said, will help resolve the city’s sewage problem.

With a price tag of Rs.1.45 crore, the super suction-cum-jetting machine is set to mechanize the cleaning of Punjab’s sewer lines promising effective solutions to the longstanding issue.
