The Rajasthan High Court has issued a circular stating that its Jodhpur and Jaipur benches shall continue to function virtually till May 17 in view of the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases in the state.
The HC notification comes in the wake of the State Government;s restriction on various activities including closure of work places, commercial establishments and markets from May 4 to May 17.
The notification states that, in view of the order of state government and considering the persisting situation, the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur and Jaipur bench will continue to hear in virtual mode until May 17.
The notification clarifies that personal presence of accused persons in Appeals/Revision shall stand exempted till May 17. Similarly, the Subordinate courts/Special courts/Tribunals in the Rajasthan state would also continue to function from May 4 to May 17 in virtual mode.
The notification read, “All other directions issued vide Notification dated 19.04.2021 which were specifically applicable only till 03.05.2021, shall continue up to17.05.2021.”

Further, as per directions of the Supreme Court issued vide order dated 27 April 2021 passed in Miscellaneous Application in RE COGNIZANCE FOR EXTENSION OF LIMITATION, the period of limitation for all judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings shall stand extended till further orders.
