A former judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has approached the Supreme Court to stop the investigation into the alleged phone conversation between him and a suspended trial court magistrate.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ordered this investigation. Retired Justice V Ishwaraiah in his petition has alleged the incident as a serious conspiracy against the Judiciary. Justice Ishwariah requested the Apex Court to put a stay on the High Court order terming it as unfair and illegal. He has also said that this order has been passed without giving any notice to them and this is causing unnecessary exploitation.
In its order, the High Court had requested former Supreme Court judge RV Raveendran to investigate the case. According to the special leave petition filed by advocate Prashant Bhushan, Justice Ishwariah, the phone talks are reportedly related to allegations of corruption in the Amaravati land scam.
The former judge said in the petition that the Andhra Pradesh High Court has passed the alleged order on October 13 while considering the application filed by suspended District Munsif Magistrate S. Ramakrishna. The magistrate has filed this application in a PIL, which is not related to the case. This PIL was given to implement the Covid Guidelines in the court building and premises.
