The Supreme Court’s vacation bench of Justices AK Sikri and Deepak Gupta on June 8 allowed the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies to export their stock held out of Bihar which has imposed prohibition.
On June 6, senior advocate Salman Khursheed, appeared for the Confederation and said that the Supreme Court order of extending export time mentioned about destruction of stock and not of export. He said he needed a clarification. On June 7 the case was again adjourned as the Bihar standing counsel was not present.
On June 8, with all present, the court clarified that the extension of date also included the export of stock.
