The Supreme Court bench of Justices Dipak Misra, AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud on Wednesday (August 23) ordered the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that, as per the court’s order of July 24, it has to frame and submit its draft constitution by September 19.
The order had also stated that a copy of the draft constitution had to be served to every respondent. The bench said that on this any aspect of the association can be raised but it must have an acceptable sanctity.
On Wednesday Justice Misra said: “It is submitted by amicus curie Gopal Subramanium and advocate Parag Tripathi, appearing for the Committee of Administrators, that none of the recommendations of the Justice Lodha Committee has been followed.”
To this senior advocate Kapil Sibal said that he held a contrary view.
The next date of hearing was fixed for September 19.
