Inter Ministry Bar & Bench Badminton Championship concludes, 128 players take part in Season 2

Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal on Saturday inaugurated Season 2 of the Inter Ministry Bar & Bench Badminton Championship by lighting the traditional lamp. 

Speaking as Chief Guest at the event held at Tyagraj Stadium in New Delhi, the Minister stressed on encouraging different types of sports in the country, stating that playing a variety of sports helped a person in remaining fit and fine.

Season 2 witnessed participation by 128 players, sweating it out against each other as members of 64 teams during 32 matches to be played during the event. 

The first match was played between Team 1 comprising former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Vikas Singh and former SCBA Vice President Pradeep Rai and Team 2 comprising Bar Council of India Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra and others.

Virendra Bhatt, (District Judge), Commercial, Rohini Court, was among the dignataries at the event.

The first doubles match was played between the pairs of Paras-Yatharth and Akshay-Anurag. Gaurav Dhanda and Guna Also were the referees of the match.

The second match was played between the pairs of Rishabh Nangia-Saurabh Dahia and Gaurav Singh-Yashpal Singh.

The pair of Gaurav Singh-Yashpal Singh are members of the Badminton Association of India (BAI).

Virendra Bhatt, District Judge (Commercial) Rohini Court, among others, took part in the event.

In women’s category, the pair of Diva Arora-Avshreya Rudy registered victory over the pair of Pinal-Versha by 21-5, 21-9 points. The pair of Namrita Chandorkar-Nidhi Arora became the second runners-up.
