The Digital Lok Adalat, which is happening for the second time is set to handle over one crore cases. The Adalat will be held on November 12.
The cases to be taken care during the Lok Adalat cases include pre litigation other registered cases include disputes relating to money recovery, electricity bills and other bill payments, telecommunication disputes, and bank litigation.
The media reports say that about 80 lakh cases including challans and pre-litigation have been registered from states like Rajasthan and Maharashtra only.
The last Digital Lok Adalat which was held in August where settlement of about ₹833,513,857, took place, the second lok Adalat is expected to surpass the settlements.
Member Secretary of the Rajasthan Legal Services Authority,Dinesh Kumar Gupta,said that how NALSA has provided cost-effective and time-efficient dispute resolution mechanisms through such digital Adalats.
The first digital was a grand success after which the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA) has again collaborated with Jupitice for the upcoming Lok Adalat.
The digitalization of the Lok Adalat in August led to the registration of record no of cases and also eased the back-end administrative work. We are confident that we are again going to resolve as many cases with the help of Digital Lok Adalat developed by Jupitice,” he said.
During the first Digital Lok Adalat, 568 benches were constituted in Rajasthan and Maharashtra and about 13,54,432 cases were registered.
Of these, 11,16,193 were resolved at the pre-litigation stage. In Maharashtra alone, 58,10,712 out of 63, 99,983 traffic challan cases were resolved.
Indian company Jupitice has designed and built the Justice Technology Platform on which Digital Lok Adalats are conducted.
