Senior Advocate Pradeep Kumar Rai elected Supreme Court Bar Association Vice-President for second time running

Senior Advocate Pradeep Kumar Rai was elected as the Vice-President of the Supreme Court Bar Association on Wednesday. This is Rai’s second consecutive victory as Vice-President.

For Vice-President, Rai polled 970 votes, defeating his closest rival Senior Advocate Sukumar Pattjoshi, who garnered 711 votes. More than 1,850 SCBA members voted in Wednesday’s election.

Senior Advocates Pradeep Rai and Vikas Singh hug each other after their respective victories.

In last year’s election, Pradeep Kumar Rai won with 984 votes beating his closest rival S.B. Upadhyay by 369 votes.

Senior Advocate ­Vikas Singh was also re-elected the SCBA President. He got 1005 votes against Senior Advocate Ranjit Kumar’s 754 votes.

Advocate Rahul Kaushik defeated incumbent Hon. Secretary Ardhendumauli Kumar Prasad for that post. Kaushik got 816, Prasad got 600 votes.

Elections to the posts of Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Treasurer, Senior Executive Members and Executive Members were also held.
