Apart from Malhotra, several other SC lawyers have also complained that they had received threatening phone calls from the SFJ for the second time in seven days – over a case involving security lapses during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab this month.

Justice Malhotra was chosen to lead an independent inquiry into circumstances that left the PM’s convoy stuck for 20 minutes on a flyover in Punjab’s Ferozepur district.

Prior to the threat to Justice Indu Malhotra, several Supreme Court lawyers were also sent audio clips asking them to abstain from hearing the Prime Minister’s security lapse.

In the threat given by SFJ, it has been said that they will have to choose either the Prime Minister or the Sikhs. It has also been said that Khalistani flag will be hoisted instead of tricolor on Republic Day on January 26.
