Edifice Engineering will demolish Supertech twin towers, Noida Authority tells Supreme Court

The twin towers 'Apex and Ceyane' in Noida Sector 93A were declared illegal by the Supreme Court on August 31, 2021.

Noida Authority on Monday told the Supreme Court that Edifice Engineering will demolish the two 40-storey towers of Supertech Emerald Court.

The apex court also directed the authority to release the contract with Super Tech for Edifice Engineering.

The apex court had earlier warned the builders to adhere to the decided time frame for demolishing the 40-storey twin towers of its Emerald Court project in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida.

On January 12, the Supreme Court had issued an order to return the money to the investors of the twin towers. The court said that if the investors’ money is not returned by January 17, they will have to go to jail.

The twin towers ‘Apex and Ceyane’ in Noida Sector 93A were declared illegal by the Supreme Court on August 31, 2021.

In its order on October 31, the Supreme Court gave three months to the Supertech Group to demolish the towers.

More than 250 homebuyers are yet to get their refund with interest after over four months having lapsed.

In view of the same, the top court took a stringent view and asked the Mumbai-based builders last week to pay back or face jail.
