Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of additional judge Justice Amit Sharma as permanent judge of Delhi High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Amit Sharma who is  additional judge of the Delhi High Court, to be appointed as a permanent judge of that court.

The Supreme Court collegium passed the resolution after noting that the Delhi High Court Collegium had unanimously recommended on January 9 that Justice Sharma be made a permanent judge. 

After the due consultation with the other SUpreme court judges,who were well versed with the affairs of Delhi Court was this decision taken..

The Collegium has evaluated the material placed on record along with the judgements of the Union Law Ministry’s Department of Justice as well as the report of the Judgment Evaluation Committee constituted in terms of the October 2017 resolution of the Supreme Court Collegium.

The Collegium said that after the due scrutiny and evaluation the material placed on record including the observations made by the Department of Justice in the file as well as the report of the Judgment Evaluation Committee they take this decision.

They also added that after considering all due factors relevant factors the Collegium is of the considered view that Shri Justice Amit Sharma, Additional Judge, is suitable for being appointed as a Permanent Judge of the High Court of Delhi.
