The Supreme Court has notified on Saturday that the Registry is organizing a Hackathon, under the directions of Chief Justice of India Dr Justice DY Chandrachud, for identifying innovative ideas and exploring practical propositions for refining and bringing in efficiency in the existing processes from filing to listing of judicial matters in the Supreme Court of India.
The event will be organized under the supervision and guidance of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India.
The notification, which was issued by Devender Pal Walia, Registrar & Secretary, Screeninig-cum-Selection Committee, Hackathon, said suggestions/innovative ideas are invited from stakeholders and duty holders for improvement in the system. The suggestions/innovative ideas shall be submitted online through link main.sci.nic.in/hackathon/, which is also available on the official website of the Supreme Court of India, from December 24 till December 30, 2022. The suggestions/innovative ideas shall be within the ambit of the provisions of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013.
The following stakeholders and duty holders may participate in the Hackathon:
(i) Members of the Supreme Court Bar Association;
(ii) Members of the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association;
(iii) Members of the e-Committee, Supreme Court of India;
(iv) Officers/Officials of the Registry of the Supreme Court of India;
and
(v) Law Clerks-cum-Research Assistants working in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.
After scrutiny of the responses, a Screening-cum-Selection Committee shall identity the best eighteen suggestions/ innovative ideas and the selected participants would be invited to make presentation during an event to be organized on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Multipurpose Hall, 2nd Floor, Block-C, Additional Building Complex, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi.
The event would be divided into two sessions. Six participants would make presentation in the first session and 12 participants in the second session.
Each participant would be allotted maximum 10 minutes for presentation of the proposition and further five minutes for interaction-cum-question/answer session with the Screening-cum-Selection Committee and the Judge In-charge. In the presentation, the participant may demonstrate as to how his/her vision and proposition will bring systemic changes to achieve the desired objective.
The participant with best proposition would be selected the Winner, and another participant as Runner Up. Rest of the participants would be given a Certificate of Participation.
