Supreme Court e-committee newsletter for October 2022 out

The Supreme Court e-committee has released its October 2022 newsletter. The newsletter outlined several major developments and measures taken by the Supreme Court of India during the aforesaid period.

The newsletter highlighted the Hon’ble Mr Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, the then Chief Justice of India and the patron in Chief of eCommittee Supreme Court of India, launched a ready reckoner booklet titled ” Electronic Case Management tools for Advocate.

The booklet features some of the essential ECMT tools made available for the Advocates like :
(i) to digitally track the case status 247; (ii) To digitally get the cause list of the courts247;
(iii) to digitally download the Court
orders/ judgements 24*7;
(iv) to digitally search Judgements for
citations;
(v) to digitally access statutes, laws, and
regulations ;
(vi) to digitally access forms to be
submitted to the court;
(vii) to receive e-mail and SMS
notifications of the case status ;
(viii) to e- file briefs and documents with
the court;
(ix) to appear/argue and conduct cases
through video conferencing.
(x) to pay online fines/ court fees/
e-payments etc.

Another important feature that the newsletter talked about is that starting from October 17, 2022, an individual neutral citation number will be auto generated and made available at the top of each decision page posted to the court’s official website which will make it easy to find pertinent judgments by their neutral citation numbers and other keywords.

Along with this a three hours Training Programme onthe Advanced Training of CIS (Case Information System) software for a batch of 40 Class III staff of District
Headquarters was conducted on
16.10.2022 in physical mode at Bihar
Judicial Academy.

As per the October newsletter, on the lines of FASTER launched by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India for the Supreme Court, the High Court Of Rajasthan Implements RHC-Faster System For E-Transmission & Migration Of CIS Bilingual Toggling System In District & Subordinate Courts.

The other pertinent points added in the newsletter were that High Court Of Meghalaya Conducts training Programme On e-Courts Services For Advocate/Advocate Clerk, the High Court Of Madhya Pradesh Inaugurates E-Sewa Kendra At District & Session Court, whereas the High Court Of Punjab & Haryana Implements ACR Updation Mechanism, Web API & Remote Network Switch Monitoring.

In the Southern belt, the High Court Of Kerala Implemented Neutral Citation For Judgments. It is also mentioned that the High Court of Kerala has Implemented E-Office In The District Judiciary for Quick Delivery of Official Communications.

Another important thing to note was Suvas, AI-Language Technology that was introduced  for the translation of Legal And Judicial Documents, SUVAS, on an experimental basis, was adopted for translating the Judgments/Orders of the District Courts from English to Malayalam as well as for translating Vernacular Judgments/documents of District Courts into English.
