The Supreme Court Collegium under Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, has recommended the appointment of five additional judges of the Madras High Court as the permanent judges of the same court.
The five judges who have been selected by the collegium are
1.Justices Sundaram Srimathy,
2.D Bharatha Chakravarthy,
3.R Vijaykumar,
4.J Sathya Narayana Prasad and
5.Mohammed Shaffiq
According to the Collegium the resolution about the same was published on the website of the Supreme Court, the recommended names of the five judges have been approved by the Chief Minister and the Governor as well.
The Collegium said that after considering the due merits, the above named Additional Judges are recommended for their appointment as Permanent Judges.
The Collegium has scrutinized and evaluated the material placed on record as well.
