Supreme Court resumes physical hearing, senior lawyers in two minds

With the Supreme Court deciding to conduct full physical hearings twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the issue has left advocates divided with junior advocates supporting the move, while their seniors have urged the Apex Court to permit hybrid hearing also on these two days.

Senior Advocates, including Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, opposed the physical reopening of the Apex Court and requested it to allow hybrid hearing on Wednesdays and Thursdays also.

Senior Advocate Vikas Singh and SCAORA VP Manoj Kumar Mishra opposed the request made by Senior Advocates against the physical reopening of courts. They said if senior advocates have difficulty, then they can take off from work for six months and return after the pandemic gets over.
