The Supreme Court has said a daughter will have to stand by her father/appellant when she is expecting the father to support her education.
The Apex Court made the above observation recently while hearing an appeal filed by a man against the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s ruling setting aside the Matrimonial Court’s decree granting a petition filed under Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act for divorce.
It was revealed by the counsel for the man that the woman had refused to meet her father or speak to him on call.
On Tuesday, a bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and M.M. Sundresh, while noting that mediation between the couple was not successful, directed the matter to be again placed before the Supreme Court Mediation Centre.

The Court had previously referred the parties to the Supreme Court Mediation Center to work out a formal divorce settlement. The Court had earlier directed the father to pay the education expenses to his daughter.
