The Chief Justice of India (CJI) UU Lalit today announced that the Supreme Court shall soon have streaming platform of its own.
CJI Lalit said this while hearing a petition regarding live streaming of Supreme Court proceedings in Constitution Bench on the matters which has urgent mentioning.
While the hearing was in progress the lawyer who was mentioning the matter also suggested for securing the copyright of proceedings by Supreme Court while streaming it on YouTube.
CJI Lalit however said that Supreme Court will have own platform very soon.
The full Court September 22, had unanimously decided to begin live streaming of Constitution bench cases from September 27.
As per the sources the hearings will initially be telecast live on YouTube, but later as per the CJI CJI Lalit however said that Supreme Court will have own platform very soon.
At present, the Supreme Court of India is hearing important constitutional matters which include the challenges to the Constitution (One Hundred and Third) Amendment Act, 2019, which provides 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
