The Supreme Court Woman Lawyers Association, office of Lily Thomas & Saju Jakob, along with the Advocates and Solicitors have organised the Lily Thomas memorial lecture 3.0, in the loving memory of late Advocate Lily Thomas on December 12 at 04.00 pm at ISIL, opposite Supreme Court
Advocate Lily Thomas was an Indian lawyer, who initiated improvement and change to existing laws by filing petitions in the highest Court and Regional courts of India.
The petition by Thomas resulted in changes in laws to prevent convicted politicians getting elected.
She is also credited for the addition of a new marriage law and protection for Parliamentarians.
Thomas was hailed most notably for petitioning to amend the Representation of the People Act.
The Guests of Honour will be delivering their speeches on “THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA”
As Lily Thomas, who hailed from Kerala was close to all women lawyers, the senior most Malayali Lawyer, has extended invite to each and every member from law fraternity for the programme and the High Tea. As Christmas approaches, a Xmas Cake shall also be cut at the conclusion of the programme.
