New Delhi (ILNS): A plea has been filed before the Bombay High Court by Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, wanting Rhea Chakraborty’s FIR against them regarding Priyanka allegedly procuring drugs to be set aside.
The petition says: “The drugs that have sought to be allegedly given by Dr. Tarun Kumar are not banned drugs. In fact, a notification issued in April 2020 clearly permits prescription of such medicine through telemedicine.”
The petition alleges that “the respondents have admittedly relied upon TV reports to register an FIR which, by any stretch of imagination cannot be termed as valid and cogent evidence.”
The petition further stated that “If the present FIR as such is allowed to subsist the same will only open floodgates to multiple complaints on the basis of messages, chats, and/or other records doing the rounds in News Channels and/or newspapers and even on social media platforms.”
The plea has also alleged that “the registration of an FIR without any reliable material being placed by the Respondent no. 2 (Rhea) smacks of malafide intent of the Respondent no. 1 (State of Maharashtra) and also reflects grave impropriety and abuse of process.”
