Delhi court extends custody of Olympic wrestler Sushil Kumar till June 25

Earlier Rohini Court in Delhi had refused to grant anticipatory bail to Kumar and sent them to judicial custody on June 2 after he spent 10 days in police custody remand.

Delhi Court extended the judicial custody of Olympic wrestler Sushil Kumar till June 25 on Friday in connection with the alleged brawl at Chhatrasal Stadium in which a young wrestler died. The case is being invested by Delhi Police.

Sushil Kumar’s judicial custody ended on Friday.

Advocate Atul Shrivastava appeared for State while advocate Pradeep Rana appeared for Sushil Kumar.

According to the prosecution, Sushil Kumar and other accused took the deceased Sonu to Chhatarsal Stadium at gunpoint and beat him up mercilessly leading to his death.

Earlier Rohini Court in Delhi had refused to grant anticipatory bail to Kumar in the murder case and sent them to judicial custody on June 2 after he spent 10 days in police custody remand.

Moreover, Rohini Court had dismissed a plea by Sushil for special food in prison including health supplements containing protein, Omega-3 capsules, ointment capsules, etc, earlier this month.
