Delhi’s Karkardooma Court on Friday sent Tahir Hussain, a suspended AAP Municipal Councillor, to seven days of police custody. He has been named in the FIR related to the killing of IB staffer Ankit Sharma during the North east Delhi riots and has also been named in another FIR related to the riots.
Duty Metropolitan Magistrate of Karkardooma Court Rakesh Kumar sent the suspended AAP Councillor to police custody for the purpose of Investigation. Delhi police had stated that they wanted the custody for interrogation to unearth a larger conspiracy.
Tahir Hussain was arrested on Thursday after his surrender application and anticipatory bail plea were rejected by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vishal Pahuja at the Rouse Avenue Courts.
