Civil rights activist , Tehseen Poonawalla on May 17 , writes a letter to the Chief Justice of India to constitute a committee to preside over “foreseen issue of utmost importance” and to review Govt’s preparedness & policy formation to tackle possible 3rd wave of COVID & “save lives of children.”
According to the letter , there has been evidently sleep increase in the cases of Covid-19 disease in the Country , with the daily rise in cases being that of approximately 3,11,170 lakh new cases on 17-05-2021 itself , presenting the Country with an evident and ever increasing need to allow vaccination for Covid19 to all age groups.
“The second wave of Covid in our Country is attacking a large number of young adults and those stepping out for work purpose. Apprehension have been expressed by medical experts including across India that the Third wave is likely to attack Children ” , the letter highlights.
It was alleged by Poonawalla , that the Government premature celebration , unscientific approach and lack of foresight has led us to this Current catastrophe. Unfortunately there is still no action plan or formula in place by the Government to protect those below 18 years of age as India has more that 165 million children who are less than 12 years of age.

“Amid a vaccine crunch in India , the antidote to the third Covid Wave is a combination of health Infra and massive vaccination outreach. In US the Government has already authorize the use of Pfizer’s vaccine on Kids”, the letter reads.
With the above facts , Tehseen Poonawalla has requested the Chief Justice of India to constitute a committee to preside over “foreseen issue of utmost importance”, to review Govt’s preparedness & policy formation to tackle possible 3rd wave of COVID 19.
