The Amitabh Bachchan family affair: Their generous donations, properties

The superstar paid approximately Rs 62 lakh as a stamp duty for the said property. Though, the property was bought and finalized in December 2020 but the registration is being done recently.

With the Maharashtra Government reducing stamp duty for home buyers to boost real-estate sector, many celebrities purchased properties by taking advantage of the new scheme. Because of these exemptions, superstar Amitabh Bachchan is going to be the neighbour of Baby Doll, Sunny Leone. Amitabh Bachchan has bought approx 5,100 square feet property in the under-construction project Atlantis in the Mumbai’s Andheri area worth Rs 31 crore located on 27th and 28th floor developed by Crystal Pride Developers in under construction project Atlantis in Mumbai’s Andheri area, according to a Money Control report.

The superstar paid approximately Rs 62 lakh as a stamp duty for the said property. Though, the property was bought and finalized in December 2020 but the registration is being done recently. Amitabh Bachchan had entered in to the deed within the period of exemption, but if final registration date of the property is beyond the exemption period then such buyers have to pay prevailing stamp duty and they cannot take advantage of said scheme.

Many close sources of Bachchan, however, say that he might not have paid the amount upon which he had paid the stamp duty. He may have received major portion of that sale price through other sources as he gave big publicity to the said project.

Bachchan is the one family where all the members have and had a star value which includes Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Teji Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan. Generations to generations, Bachchan family is the most respected and renowned family in India.

Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 (Libran), the son of well-known poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, now 78, started his career in 1969. He was criticized at first, had 12 flops and two hits by the age of 30. He got his break in Bollywood after a letter of introduction from the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, as he was a good friend of her son Rajiv Gandhi. Salim Javed Khan wrote a script of Zanjeer (1973) and right from then he rises to superstardom. Eventually, Bachchan became the most powerful and successful person of the film industry. He has taken on the contours of a national icon. Though, he took a sabbatical to pursue politics, he returned to the movies after all. He was childhood friends with Rajiv Gandhi and very close to Indra Gandhi which is how he contested the Allahabad seat in the 8th Lok Sabha elections and won by one of the highest victory margins in history by defeating Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, one of the greatest leaders of Uttar Pradesh. His political career, however, was short-lived as he resigned after three years, saying politics was not his cup of tea. Even on the demise of Indira Gandhi, Amitabh stood with the rest of the Gandhi family like their own son.

At present, he is not only one of the biggest actors of India, but also a playback singer, film producer, former politician, television host and has a special charisma and aura which shakes and decides the dimensions of Bollywood. He was a Laawaris who became Muqaddar ka Sikandar in Bollywood and rose up to the level of Shahenshah. He always engages himself in social causes, charitable causes and helping poor section by donating money to various helping institutions. Amitabh Bachchan is counted among India’s most enduring superstar for his bold and unique voice, though his voice was rejected by All India Radio finding it not appropriate for the radio. Bachchan is a paragon of acting in Indian cinema which fits in each and every script depending on the deep pockets of producers. Bachchan is not only a superstar in India but also his fan following has captured the hearts of cinema lovers across the globe, though he is not in the list of halls of fame but hall of fame could not get the limelight in South Asia because it failed recognizing and honoring stars like Bachchan. Whoever plans to launch any projects in India they cannot imagine it without involvement or participation of Bachchan. In the Oscar winning movies, like Slumdog Millionaire, producers wanted to make Amitabh Bachchan as lead role of the movie but when Bachchan rejected the script finding it demeaning to India cinema and television, they took Anil Kapoor, who played the role of Amitabh Bachchan as a KBC host.

He was declared Star of the Millennium by a BBC poll, by Stardust and Amitabh was the first Indian actor, in fact the first Asian actor to get his wax statue at Madam Tussauds, London. It’s always less to talk to about his achievements, in 1984, he was awarded Padma Shri and in 2001 with Actor of Century award in Egypt and Padma Bhushan. In the year of 2015 and 2019, he was awarded Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India and Dadasaheb Phalke award. France’s highest civilian honor, the Knight of the Legion of Honour, was awarded to him by the French Government in 2007 for his “exceptional career in the world of cinema and beyond”.

When Twitter launched in India, their first target was opening an account of Amitabh Bachchan and Bachchan charged them one time signing amount and huge fee for each and every tweet. Though, Twitter gave him lakhs of fake followers on the day of launch and gathered media attention on his each and every tweet which was a carrier and launch pad of twitter in India.

Amitabh Bachchan is always in the news, be it good or bad. Everyone has ups and downs in their life, so he had Baghban! With Kaun Banega Crorepati and Mohabattein, he redefined his position in Indian cinema and the amount of love he got is astounding. In 1982, while filming Coolie, Big B suffered a near-fatal intestinal injury and he was so critically injured and admitted to St. Philomena’s Hospital on Mother Theresa Road, Bengaluru in the hospital that at times doctor considered him close to death and post-surgery continued at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai.

Prayers from across the globe from a common man to the Prime Minister made him survive though, he is still suffering from infected blood donation which was given to him during the time of emergency. He has an infected itchy left leg which he himself finds very odd and painful. Amitabh emerged again as a winner and slapped the critics who had declared him “finished” after Jaadugar. Even at this age, roles are written for him. Every film maker dreams of casting him in his/her film.

Amitabh Bachchan believes each and every word of his late father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He finds his father’s literary works as stress busters for him and he applies each and every word suggested in the books to his life. Harivansh Rai Bachchan advised Amitabh Bachchan not to buy excess immovable property than the actual needed, otherwise he could be in trouble. When the Barabanki land scam and Pauna land scam, where Bachchan had declared himself a farmer to take possession of Pauna land, broke he used to say with regret that he should have heard what his father said.

Amitabh Bachchan and even the other family members own numbers of properties in various states of India. Amitabh is one of the richest stars of Bollywood, which makes him not only Shahenshah in acting but also his assets make him Shahenshah of Bollywood.

Jaya Bachchan, who is known for her Guddi performance, has created a bold and fierce image outside Bollywood. She is the only person in the Bachchan family who aspires to become Chief Minister of a state. Though, Amitabh had realized that politics is not his cup of tea and Bachchan has requested his late friend Amar Singh several times for not giving ticket for Rajya Sabha. Jaya Bachchan is the mother of all controversies in the Bachchan family, sometimes she makes a statement which is embarrassing for them and sometimes she finds herself in trouble by filing wrong information in her election affidavits. Shweta is the favourite child of Amitabh Bachchan who suffered a bad marriage due to abnormality of her partner.

There was a time when Shweta was really fed up of her marriage and left Delhi for Bombay to her father’s office, when Bachchan came to know about the fight between the couple, he personally brought Shweta to Delhi and warned her that after marriage her house is in Delhi. Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan has starred in over 50 films till now in both leading and supporting. He may not be as big as his father but he has made his place as one of the best actors in Indian cinema.

Abhishek is the only son of Amitabh Bachchan, who was kind of a weakness for him. During the time when ABCL failed and Amitabh was passing through a bad face in life, Abhishek could not pass 10th exam in United States and came back to India. Thereafter, he couldn’t continue his higher education.

Karisma Kapoor was the first known girlfriend of Abhishek Bachchan but at the same time he was said to be dating Rani Mukherjee and some other actresses but Aishwarya Rai was her dream girl and that was the reason, age did not come in the way of the successful marriage. From the moment he proposed, Abhishek and Aishwarya got married in 90 days. Though there were several allegations on Abhishek and one of them took live-telecast at the time of his marriage, when a woman named Janvi Kapoor (a small time model and dancer in famous song Dus Bahane with Abhishek), claimed to be the wife of Abhishek, and slit her wrist in front of their house Prateeksha accusing Aishwarya of stealing Abhishek.

Abhishek could not succeed in the industry other than his debut Refugee with Kareena Kapoor and Guru. Moreover, he could not get any lead role against his wife Aishwarya, who always happen to be lead actress. Apart from the movies, Abhishek Bachchan had bought the Pro Kabaddi League, Team Jaipur Pink Panthers and co-bought team Chennaiyin FC in Indian Super league. He is also engaged in his father’s company, Amitabh Bachchan (AB) Corp. Ltd. Further, Abhishek Bachchan is seen in various welfare activities. Like in 2011, he promoted awareness of drug abuse in India as part of education campaign and he also launched the Awareness Day Race on the occasion of silver Jubilee of the country’s Narcotic Control Bureau.

He fell in love with former Miss India Aishwarya Rai while shooting for Dhoom2 and later in 2007 they got married and gave birth to a baby girl, Aaradhya on November 16, 2011. Abhishek Bachchan has won 3 Filmfare awards, National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi for producing comedy-drama Paa.

While other family is busy in their respective assignments, Abhishek Bachchan keeps himself busy in Kabbadi League, football matches and some of the ABCL assignments. Many times, the scene of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan movie Abhimaan haunts his life because he goes through similar experiences. At the Cannes international film festival, where Aishwarya was invited every year and Abhishek used to accompany her but when photographers request her solo photo, Abhishek gets uncomfortable as that was a real embarrassment for him.

Like father, Like son! Abhishek Bachchan has also donated in various places-

·         Plan India, New Delhi

·         Wildlife Conservation Trust, Mumbai

·         St. Dominic Savio High School Society, Mumbai

·         Prime Minister National Relief Fund

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai was born in a Mangalorean family on November 1, 1973. While studying architecture, she began modelling as a part-time job. She has started working as model at very young age. She came into the limelight after the release of her Pepsi commercial and after that she was offered various roles in movies by various big names in Bollywood but she rejected the offers as she wanted to be an architect. However, fate had planned different things for her.

Aishwarya’s mother Vrinda and her father Krishan Raj Rai had brought her to Mumbai. Though she lost Miss India to Sushmita Sen in the year 1994, she became Miss World in 1994. After winning the title, she started her career with professional modelling, few television commercials and then after she started receiving film offers which she pursued eventually.

Her parents saw Salman Khan as her godfather and she stayed with him like a family. However, this relationship did not sustain for a long time and could not convert into a marriage. Aishwarya then started seeing Vivek Oberoi, which also failed, and she later married Abhishek Bachchan. The story of her marriage is very interesting because when Abhishek proposed to her she was shooting for a movie in USA (though that scene never came to the light of public eyes), she said yes after which entire Bachchan family got into a dilemma. Late MP Amar Singh convinced the family and got this proposal accepted, and he spent the entire amount for their marriage. Sources close to the family disclosed that there were pre-marriage negotiations between the Bachchans and Aishwarya’s family in which they agreed on a model of fund management of the income and assets that she had accrued prior to her marriage. Now, she is the mother of a beautiful daughter and stays with Abhishek Bachchan in the other house.

Now the interesting fact is that Amitabh Bachchan stays in Prateeksha whereas Jaya Bachchan stays in Jalsa, and Abhishek stays at Vatsa, but if any important issue arises, the entire family sits together and prepares a strategy for the future course of action, be it any nomination for Rajya Sabha, any advertisements, attending any party or any financial deals.
