The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal for the appointment of 9 Additional Judges of the Madras High Court as permanent Judges in the High Courts of Madras
In a notification issued , the Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting has approved the proposal for the appointment of 9 Additional Judges of the Madras High Court. These include:
- Justice Govindarajulu Chandrasekharan
- Justice Veerasamy Sivagananam
- Justice Ganesan Illangovan
- Justice Ananthi Subramanian
- Justice Kannammal Shanmuga Sundaram
- Justice Sathi Kumar Sukumara Kurup
- Justice Murali Shankar Kuppuraju
- Justice Manjula Ramaraju Nalliah
- Justice Thamilselvi T Valayapalayam
The Apex Court Collegium has resolved to recommend that Justice A.A Nakkiran will be appointed as additional Judge of the Madras High Court for fresh term of year w.e.f 3rd December 2022
The Collegium consisted of five top-most judges of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice (CJI) N.V. Ramana. The other four Judges of the Collegium included Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar, Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud and L. Nageswara Rao.
