The Union government on Saturday notified the transfer of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh from the High Court of Allahabad to the High Court of Kerala.
The Supreme Court Collegium had passed a resolution on July 12, reiterating its July 5 recommendation to transfer Justice D.K. Singh from the Kerala High Court to the Allahabad High Court.
Rejecting the request made by Justice Singh to transfer him to the High Courts of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan, the Collegium observed that it did not find any merit in the request made by the Kerala High Court judge and hence, was staying by its previous decision.
Justice Singh finished his graduation in Law (LL.B) from the Allahabad University and did his post-graduation (LL.M.) from the Delhi University. He was enrolled as an Advocate in 1993.
He practised in the Allahabad High Court till 1997 and thereafter in the Supreme Court from 1998 till the date of his appointment as a Judge.
He mainly practised Constitutional law, Administrative Law, Commercial Laws, Civil Laws, Taxation, Arbitration and Criminal Laws.
Justice Singh was appointed as an Additional Judge on September 22, 2017 and took oath as a permanent Judge on September 6, 2019.
