Prayagraj (ILNS): With the level of air pollution in Uttar Pradesh reaching dangerous levels in many cities, the issue has reached the high court. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court asked the government to clarify what steps have been taken to stop this.
The high court has summoned the government and the UP Pollution Control Board and has asked the government and the Pollution Board to file affidavits in six weeks. The court has also asked whether it is proposed to make schemes to keep the environment clean.
The order was passed by a division bench of Justices Pankaj Mittal and Saurabh Lavania on a PIL filed on behalf of Radhika Singh and others.
The petition says that steps should be taken to prevent air pollution and fog in Uttar Pradesh. The Petition demanded a complete ban on firecrackers.
After the hearing, the court ordered to list the matter with another Petition already under consideration and summoned the response from the Government and Pollution Board.
