Uttarakhand HC Judges contribute Rs 25,000 each to PM CARES fund

The High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital issued a circular stating that the relief will be provided to the affected persons, and the donations shall be made in the public charitable trust under the name of “Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and relief in Emergency Situations Fund, (PM CARES FUND) which has been set up by the Central Government.

The Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan of the Uttarakhand High Court have approved the proposals and stated that all the Hon’ble Judges would contribute Rs. 25,000/- each to the PM CARES FUND.

The court also said that Gazetted officers would contribute 3 day’s salary (Basic+ D.A), all Non- Gazetted officers/ Employees would contribute 2 Day’s salary (Basic+ D.A) and all Group D employees and Drivers would contribute 1 day salary (Basic+ D.A). Aforesaid contribution by the Hon’ble Judges and members of the High Court will be deducted from the salary of March, 2020 which would be paid in April, 2020. The court stated in the end that the contribution will be on voluntary basis.

The judges of the Uttarkhand High Court have now joined the bandwagon of judges contributing towards fund created against COVID-19. Judges of High Court across country have came forward and made voluntary donations in the said fund. The Judges of Supreme Court also on Wednesday also decided to donate Rs. 50,000 each toward the said fund.
