The Uttarakhand High Court suspended Dehradun District Judge Prashant Joshi. Disciplinary action was taken against the District Judge under an order issued by High Court Registrar General Hira Singh Bonal. During the period of suspension, he has been attached to the Rudraprayag District Court.
The High Court took action after the judge is said to have used his official “District Judge” board on a private Audi car while he travelled to Mussourie to attend the camp court on December 21 and 22.
On the Audi car, whose owner is Kewal Krishan Soin, the official board of District Judge, Dehradun was fitted, which may be intended to protect the owner and the occupants of the car from nefarious activities.
The memorandum noted that Soin has a case of forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy against him and a writ petition to quash the same is also pending before the Uttarakhand High Court.
