A woman in Uttar Pradesh has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking his intervention into an FIR she lodged last year against the employees of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, accusing them of physical and mental harassment.
The woman said she had lodged an FIR on November 29, 2021, but till date, no action has been taken on the same. Even a charge sheet was not filed against the accused, she alleged.
As per her letter, “Mohan Road police officer Vishwadeepak was appointed as the investigating officer in this case. All my statements were discussed in front of the investigating officer. However, almost two months have passed but till now, no action has been taken against the accused. Moreover, even after the registration of FIR against the accused, they are working in the Rehabilitation University.
“Taking cognisance of this matter from the office of the Chancellor, the concerned department of Uttar Pradesh government was directed to conduct a proper investigation, but police was avoiding taking action against the accused”
-she alleged.

The woman further said that whenever she called, police told her that the process of investigation takes a long time.
“Police does not even pick up my calls. On repeated complaints in the police station, police said it was under pressure and was unable to do anything,” she added.
When APN News tried to talk to the officials, a statement was issued by the police that investigation was going on in the matter.
“We have not ignored the complaint of the woman, the matter is being investigated continuously. Action will be taken against whoever is found accused in this case”
-said the statement.
