The appointment of Justice Goutam Bhaduri as the acting Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court with effect from 11 March has been notified by the Central government on Friday.
A notification for this was issued by the Department of Law and Justice.
The notification read that exercising the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President of India is very pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Goutam Bhaduri, senior-most puisne Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh has to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 11.03.2023 which is consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Arup Kumar Goswami, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh.
He will take over the post consequent to the retirement of the current Chief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami.
