The names of the new Chief Justices have been cleared by the Central government on Friday.The names have been confirmed cleared for the appointment of Chief Justices to Allahabad, Chhattisgarh and Patna High Courts.
The new Chief Justices are:
– Justice Pritinker Diwaker for Allahabad High Court;
– Justice Ramesh Sinha for Chhattisgarh High Court;
– Justice Vinod Chandran for Patna High Court.
The appointment of Justice Diwakar as Chief Justice of Allahabad was recommended by Supreme Court Collegium on February 9.
Justice Diwakar was born in year 1961.He graduated in law from Durgawati University in Jabalpur and enrolled as an advocate in 1984.The parent High Court of Justice Diwakar is Chhattisgarh Highcourt.
Justice Diwakar was designated as Senior Advocate in January 2005, He was there ji ju jijas a judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on March 31, 2009. He has been a judge of the Allahabad High Court since October 3, 2018.
The appointment of Justice Sinha as the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh was recommended by the Collegium for appointment on February 9.
His parent High Court is Allahabad.
Justice Chandran had initially been recommended by the Collegium in December 2022 to be appointed as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court.
The Collegium on February 7 however recalled that recommendation and instead recommended that he be made Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
Justice Chandran is the senior-most Judge of the Kerala High Court. He was sworn in as an additional judge of the Kerala High Court on November 8, 2011, and made a mpermanent judge on June 24, 2013 and is due to retire on April 24, 2025.
