New Delhi: The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a plea challenging the stay order passed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court on the government’s decision to trifurcate the state capital in view of the ongoing case in the High Court.
The bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy and M.R. Shah told the Andhra Pradesh government that it is appropriate that the high court hears the plea on a day-to-day basis and disposes of it expeditiously.
Earlier, the Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman had recused from hearing the matter after which it was listed for the third time before the bench presided by Justice Ashok Bhushan.
On July 31, the Governor gave its assent to the state government’s decision to make Kurnool as the judicial capital, Vishakhapatnam as the executive capital, and Amaravati as the legislative capital.
