New Delhi: The Supreme Court today rejected a plea that questioned the appointment of retired Supreme Court judge, Justice B.S. Chauhan, as head of the 3-member commission constituted to probe into the encounter killing of gangster Vikas Dubey.
The bench of Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and Justices A.S. Bopanna and Justice V. Ramasubramanian had reserved its order on August 11.
The plea was filed by Advocate Ghanshyam Upadhyay, who had submitted that since the family members of the retired judge have political connections, the enquiry led by the Justice Chauhan will not be fair and transparent.
