The Gauhati High Court has recently directed the Arunachal Pradesh government to submit a compliance report by the next date on whether food grains have been supplied to the people of Chakma, Hajong and other communities living in the Arunachal Pradesh districts of Changlang, Papumpare and Namsai.
Prima facie, it appears to be a classification not founded on intelligible differentia nor it is found to have a rational relation/nexus to the object sought to be achieved by such classification, namely, containment and further spread of COVID-19 pandemic, noted the apex court.
