The reply further submits that AIIMS Jodhpur has cardiologists, neurologists, endocrinologist, urologists, orthopedic consultants, and experience Ayurvedacharya are available at Ayurveda University Hospital, Jodhpur and they are capable of treating Asaram effectively.
The Supreme Court on Friday deferred the hearing of self-styled godman Asaram Bapu for interim bail to avail Ayurvedic medical treatment in Uttarakhand, till the reopening of the Court.
On June 7, the state of Rajasthan had filed its reply against the plea of Asaram. The bench of Justice Navin Sinha and Justice Ajay Rastogi had on June 8 adjourned the matter, saying that the reply was filed yesterday evening and they didn’t get the time to read it.
Asaram Bapu had moved the Supreme Court for bail saying he wanted to undergo Ayurvedic treatment in Uttarakhand. Rajasthan government affidavit says this is his third attempt to get his sentence reduced. The father of the rape victim has also expressed fear that he and his daughter will be killed.
The applicant states that he and his daughter are very apprehensive now that they would be killed in the same manner if Bapu is granted bail for medical reasons.
The affidavit highlighted that the MM Hospital clinical summary does not show any specific health problem needing immediate attention and such surgery or angiography cannot be done at an Ayurveda hospital.
