The High Court of Bombay on Tuesday dismissed the petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), seeking stay on the bail order of former state home minister Anil Deshmukh in corruption case
A single-judge Delhi High Court bench of Justice Subramonium Prasad noted, “The repeated attempts on the part of the petitioner is nothing but an abuse of the process of law.”
The bench further Said that the impugned judgment of the DelhiHC shall not be rely as a precedent by any of the parties before any court. “It is clarified that release of the respondents at this stage not interfered with,” it added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bedi had deferred passing an order for the immediate release of Devangana Kalita and Natasha Narwal from judicial custody for want for verification of their addresses and sureties.
A Delhi court on Monday reserved its order on the bail plea of independent journalist Mandeep Punia, who had been arrested by the Delhi Police from Singhu border
