The Supreme Court dismissed a plea filed by a prosecutrix challenging bail granted to a rape accused alleging she was raped on false pretext of marriage. The bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana and Justice Surya Kant observed that the prosecutrix was already married when she came into contact with accused.
The petitioner said he was arrested for giving speeches, which according to the State, had objectionable contents with regard to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and could have resulted in caste-based division, posing a threat to peace and harmony prevailing in the state
The Allahabad High Court last week granted conditional bail to Shravan Yadav alias Vicky, an accused in the death of a person during celebratory firing.
The High Court said it is very strange that neither the petitioner, nor his Counsel, would come to know about the order granting regular bail to the petitioner and rather, the Sessions Judge, Panchkula was approached by way of filing application for regular bail.
