The Bharat Bandh called by farmers on December 8 Tuesday has begun. The strike has hit transport, office attendance and shops, fruits and vegetables supplies in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.
The legal fraternity has come out in full support of the farmers’ demands and has urged the Government of India to consider the genuine demands of the farmer community.
Ahead of the Bandh, the Home Ministry on Monday issued an advisory to states and Union Territories, in which, it asked them to tighten security in view of Covid-19 guidelines during Tuesday’s Bharat Bandh.
