The Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the violence that erupted in Bogtui village of West Bengal's Birbhum district on March 22, following the death of Trinamool Congress-controlled Panchayat's member Bhadu Sheikh.
Supreme Court dismissed the filed by BJP leaders against the Calcutta High Court for directing the State Election Commissioner to examine the ground situation in each of the 108 West Bengal municipalities going to polls on February 27, and take a decision on deployment of central paramilitary forces.
