A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Wednesday sentenced Father Thomas Kottoor and Sister Sephy to life imprisonment in the murder case of Sister Abhaya, who was found murdered at a convent in Kerala 28 years ago.
The CBI in 1996 filed a report stating it could not conclude whether it was a homicide or suicide, which was rejected by the Court. A year later, CBI concluded that the case was a homicide but there was no evidence to try the case.
The Rajasthan High Court High has stayed the proceedings by a CBI court which had ordered reopening of a probe against former disinvestment minister Arun Shourie and four others over the sale of a government-owned hotel in Udaipur two decades back.

Following court instructions, the complaint that Rhea Chakraborty had filed against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka Singh, was transferred from Bandra police station to the CBI court.
A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court for a court-monitored CBI probe into the death of Disha Salian along with Sushant Singh Rajput, saying “both are inter-linked”. Disha Salian was Rajput’s former manager.
